James Neiss/staff photographer HOP ON: Old Falls Street USA held a street lighting ceremony for the more than 100,000 lights they decorted the street with for the holidays. Meeting with Santa and carriage rides were all part of the fun Friday night. The free carriage rides will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays on Old Falls Street through Dec. 28.

HAMILTON: Mona - that little old woman who could
Wrotniak's Highland restaurant was consumed in flames not long ago. Witnesses say that it was young children. Now all that remain is a charred hulk of brick and mortar that is fit for nothing more than the wrecker's ball. It not only reflects too many of the once vibrant buildings that lined the streets of a once-vibrant city that is now trading businesses and owner-occupied homes for subsidized government housing, wherein now lies the dreams of prosperity that are just as dark and bleak as the remains of Wrotniak's.

Here comes 'The Polish Prince'
It's the busiest weekend in long time for high profile concerts in the area. At Artpark on Friday the Avett Brothers perform the first concert of the venues 40th anniversary season. Darien Lake hosts Tim McGraw on Saturday and on Tuesday Fall Out Boy makes a stop at The Rapid's Theatre for a sold-out show.
