In celebration of Independence Day, several aerial fireworks displays will be held throughout the area. Here’s the list:

Today

• NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK: 10 p.m.

Thursday

• SENECA NIAGARA CASINO & HOTEL: 9:45 p.m. Rain date is 9:45 p.m. Friday

Friday

• NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK: 10 p.m.

• YOUNGSTOWN: Starting 9:30 p.m. at Old Fort Niagara

Saturday

• GRAND ISLAND: Dusk at Martin’s Fantasy Island. Rain date Sunday at dusk.

• LEWISTON: Dusk at spoils pile above Artpark

• NIAGARA FALLS: Dusk at Hyde Park

• PENDLETON: Dusk at Town hall at Campbell Boulevard. Activities begin at 5 p.m. with clowns and children’s events.

• WHEATFIELD: Dusk at Oppenheim Park

Sunday

• NIAGARA FALLS STATE PARK: 10 p.m.

The scammer at the other end of the line had gotten lucky. After most likely making random calls to numbers in the 716 area code, he was able to catch the Town of Niagara woman when she was groggy, and slightly medicated from a minor surgical procedure earlier in the day.
