LOCKPORT: Trespassing violation dismissed for Cejka

Cejka fined $290, pleaded guilty to a traffic infringement

Staff Reports

Channel 4 meteorologist Mike Cejka was fined $290 Tuesday night at the Town of Lockport Court.

Cejka, 50, who was absent from court, was represented by Cheryl Meyers Buth who said her client was issued an adjournment contemplation of dismissal on a trespassing violation. All charges will be dismissed by July 19 if Cejka complies with the judge’s request to stay away from the Old Beattie Road man’s property, she said.

Alfred V. Pearson, 40, of Old Beattie Road, who recently pressed the charges against Cejka said he asked town prosecutor Bradley Marble for a full prosecution of 15 days in jail for Cejka.

Marble said that would not happen because this was Cejka’s first offense.

“If he violates his condition, he could be reinstated here and face additional charges,” Marble said.

Cejka also plead guilty to failure to stop at a stop sign on Old Beattie Road and his failure to use a turning signal was turned into a parking ticket.

In response to Cejka’s attire the night of the complaint, Buth said she had no comment.

“We’ve apologized to the homeowner for any inconvenience this may have caused,” Buth said.
