Assault rifle stolen from home

 
A Pine Avenue resident told police someone took an AK-47 assault rifle from a closet in his home sometime recently.
The victim said the theft occurred sometime this weekend and the suspect also took about 20 rounds of 7.62 caliber ammunition. Police found no signs of forced entry or physical evidence.
Officers said the resident told them he bought the rifle in the summer of 2011 for $600 but had no receipt or serial number, citing he had moved since buying it.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary on the 1500 block of Center Avenue. A resident said someone kicked in a door sometime between 7 and 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and took several items, including a Wii console, a laptop computer and a 42-inch flatscreen TV.

 
• BURGLARY: A resident on the 2200 block of Whitney Avenue told police that sometime between 4 and 8 p.m. Tuesday someone smashed a window with a brick, entered the home and took a Vizio TV.

 
• BURGLARY: A resident on the 1600 block of Niagara Street told police that someone broke into their home Monday night and took a 37-inch TV. The resident said they had been letting a man stay at the house. There were no signs of forced entry, 
police said.
