Teen arrested for stabbing youth worker
Niagara Regional Police say they’ve arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the stabbing of a Falls, Ont., youth worker.
Officers said they were called to the Night Light Youth Services Home in the Falls on Wednesday to investigate a report of an assault. When they arrived, they were met by the youth worker who was suffering from a stab wound to the neck area.
The victim received medical treatment on the scene for the non-life threatening injury.
Police then arrested a resident of the home. He was charged with assault with a weapon.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 2900 block of McKoon Avenue. A 30-year-old man told officers that sometime between 4:30 and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday someone broke into his home by breaking a window on the front door and forcing it open. The victim said an Xbox game system, a laptop computer and a lockbox containing a large amount of cash was taken.
• ROBBERY: Officers are looking into a robbery in the 1100 block of Roselle Avenue. An 81-year-old man told police he was returning home from shopping when he was grabbed from behind by a man who took his wallet.
• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 2800 block of Macklem Avenue. A 29-year-old man told officers that sometime between 5 and 7:23 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into his 1999 Honda Civic by smashing the passenger-side window. The victim said a DVD player, amps and sub-woofers were taken from the vehicle.
City of Lockport
• VANDALISM: Lockport City Police reported Thursday a stop sign had the word "bloodz" painted on it sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The sign is located at Hawley Street and Park Avenue on the south side. No suspicious individuals were found in the area, the report said.
