• ASSAULT: Police are looking for a suspect in an assault in the 1100 block of LaSalle Avenue. A 29-year-old woman told officers a man cut her stomach with his fingernails and then threw her off a porch during an incident at 1:07 a.m. Sunday.
• BURGLARY: Officers are investigating a burglary in the 2200 block of Independence Avenue. A neighbor reported seeing two suspects leaving a home with duffel bags at 5:21 p.m. Saturday and when police arrived they found someone had entered the house by breaking a window on a side door. The homeowner told officers a water jug with $600 in change inside it, a PlayStation2 game system and 10 video games, some jewelry, some prescription medications and a Michael Jordan baseball jersey were taken.
• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 500 block of 55th Street. A 63-year-old woman told officers sometime between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday someone entered her unlocked 2008 Saturn and took a GPS system out of the glove box.

• DWI: John Daniel Insalaco, 25, 2122 River Road, Niagara Falls, was charged with DWI and failure to keep right Saturday. At 12:15 a.m. A Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy said he spotted Insalaco’s car cross the center lane on Williams Road. Once stopped, the deputy said he smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Insalaco who admitted to having 10 drinks during the night at a bar. He failed field sobriety tests and had a reading of 0.18 percent blood alcohol content during a chemical test, the report said.
