Cambria man ‘stable’ after accident

A Cambria man was still in stable condition Monday at Erie County Medical Center after an accident Sunday night on Human Road in Cambria.

Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies said Marcus Huttenmaier, 27, was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC after a passer-by notified the sheriff’s office at 5:31 p.m. of the one-vehicle accident.

A report said Huttenmaier was driving west on Human Road when his vehicle left the north side of the road, striking a fence and tree.

He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic violations.

An 85-year-old man told officers he was in the bus terminal there, at 4 p.m. Monday, when he went to put some money in his wallet. The man said another man grabbed the wallet and cash and pushed him to the ground. Transit Authority Police said the robbery was recorded on video surveillance cameras.

Antonio Carr, 16, 1028 10th St., and Ladrae Walker, 18, 518 75th St., were each charged with attempted second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief. A neighbor told police she saw the teens smash a window in a back door of a home in the 1800 block of Niagara Avenue at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Carr and Walker fled from the scene when the neighbor called police but were caught a short time later.
