Infant injured in Robinson rollover

Niagara Gazette — A one-month old infant was injured in a rollover accident at 11 p.m. Wednesday on Robinson Road and transported to Children’s Hospital  in critical but stable condition, according to State Police. 

Thaddeus Nicpo, 40 of Buffalo, was the the driver. He was charged with driving while intoxicated — Leandra’s Law, speeding, moving from a lane unsafely and passing a red light. Four people were injured in the crash.

When troopers arrived at the accident near Robinson and Old Beattie roads, the 2011 Toyota Corolla was on its roof with no occupants. 

Troopers located the driver and the occupants in a nearby convenience store, all with injuries from the accident. Thaddeus Nicpon, Brandon Nicpon and Heather Eagan were all transported by ambulance to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. 

A one month old infant, who was also in the vehicle, was taken to the Buffalo hospital.

Leandra's Law (Child Passenger Protection Act) is a New York State law making it an automatic felony on the first offense to drive drunk with a person age 15 or younger inside the vehicle.

Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies were also on scene to assist.
