Falls youths arrested in rash of thefts
Niagara Regional Police have arrested three teenagers after a rash of car and garage break-ins in the Clare Crescent area in the south end of Niagara Falls.
Police said they went to the neighborhood at 2:50 a.m. Thursday after residents called and said several teens were entering vehicles in the area and stealing various items from them. When patrol officers arrived, they located and arrested three suspects and recovered a small amount of stolen property.
Detectives determined the male suspects were responsible for a rash of thefts from autos and thefts from garages in the area in the past week. The suspects, all under age 18, were charged with various theft related crimes.
Heroin, Oxycontin seized in drug raid
Two people were arrested after Niagara Regional Police raided a Falls, Ont., home.
Members of the Regional Police Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at 4499 Jepson Street, Unit 1, on Friday, after an investigation into charges of drug trafficking at that location.
Officers seized approximately $2,000 worth of heroin, $7,500 worth of Oxycontin pills and 30 marihuana plants. Investigators also seized $5,800 in cash.
Bryn Mester, 30, and Meghan Kingsley, 24, were both charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

• MENACING: Police are looking for a suspect in a knife-wielding incident in a parking lot in the 6500 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. A 35-year-old woman told officers she was in the parking lot at 11:59 a.m. Thursday when she was approached by another woman who brandished a knife and threatened her.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 2000 block of 11th Street. A property manager told police sometime between 12:25 p.m. Dec. 15 and noon Dec. 28 someone broke into a vacant home by kicking in a window. The manager said a furnace, a water meter and a large amount of copper pipe was taken.

• HARASSMENT: An Autumnview Drive woman told officers that she had received several text messages Wednesday night from an unknown person. The victim said the messages called her vulgar names. The police report said the messages have been coming in for more than two weeks.
