BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 28

Niagara Falls

• THEFT: Police are looking for a suspect who tried to steal two propane tanks from a home improvement store in the 700 block of Builders Way on Wednesday. Store employees said the man entered the store at 6:28 p.m., placed the propane tanks under his coat and tried to leave without paying. Employees chased the suspect, who dropped the tanks as he fled.

• BURGLARY: Officers are investigating a burglary in the 2400 block of LaSalle Avenue. A 43-year-old man told officers sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Wednesday someone broke into his garage by pushing out a window. The victim said a power washer, a home generator and a number of power tools were taken.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft in the 1600 block of Walnut Avenue. A 41-year-old man told officers sometime between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday someone took the left rear wheel off of his car. The victim said the wheel was replaced with a cinder block.

• THEFT: Officers are looking into a theft from the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center. A 47-year-old artist told police sometime between Dec. 27 and noon Wednesday someone took $2,795 worth of photography equipment and auto parts from a storage closet across from her studio.

• ARREST: A Medina woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident in the 1500 block of Military Road on Wednesday morning. Krystal Neal, 22, 2991 Marshall Road, was charged with petit larceny. She is accused of taking $14 worth of cosmetic products.

Wilson

• LARCENY: A Yougstown-Wilson Road resident told Niagara County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday that someone removed the vent from the dashboard of his truck.

Town of Lockport

• VIOLATION: Nicholis Michael Aquino, 21, 858 Dorwood Park, Ransomville, was charged Tuesday with disobeying a court order. Officers were dispatched to the Niagara County Jail for a report of a violation of an order of protection. A correctional officer said Aquino came into the jail to visit an inmate, but the woman in jail had an order of protection against the suspect. The defendant was held at the jail in lieu $500 bail.
