• SHOOTING: Police are investigating a shooting in the 1800 block of Michigan Avenue. Officers responded to a call of “shots fired” at 18th Street and Michigan Avenue at 3:02 p.m. Sunday. A witness told police he heard a shot and looked out his window and saw a man standing outside the passenger door of a tan SUV, “shooting a long gun, with a long magazine under it.” He was firing the gun (west) down Michigan Avenue. A second witness told officers he heard six shots and Crime Scene detectives later recovered six spent shell casings in the area. After firing the shots, the man got back in the SUV, which was last seen going down Michigan Avenue and turning north on 22nd Street.
