Stabbing in Cayuga Village
A 16-year-old youth was stabbed in the right arm during a large fight on Sunnyside Drive in Cayuga Village late Thursday afternoon.
Town of Niagara Police, Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies and New York State Police responded to the scene and arrested two young men. Another 16-year-old was also injured, according to a release.
Dominick D. Kelly, 19, of Niagara Falls was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree attempted assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Andrew C. Lengen, 20, of Niagara Falls, was charged with disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty at arraignment Thursday night and was sentenced to 15 days in Niagara County Jail, according to release from the Town of Niagara Police Department.
LOCKPORT
Man to be extradited to Puerto Rico
A traffic stop on Tonawanda Creek Road led to the arrest of a Lockport man wanted in Puerto Rico for allegedly selling heroin.
Juan D. Montanez-Melendez, 24, of 6495 Dysinger Road, was arrested at 8:25 p.m. Sunday after he was pulled over for speeding.
When a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy ran a background check on Montanez-Melendez's driver’s license, the check revealed he had an outstanding warrant in Puerto Rico.
Montanez-Melendez denied having any warrants or ever being arrested, but dispatchers were able to confirm all of the reported information.
Puerto Rico officials said they will extradite.
Niagara Falls
• CHARGED: Keith R. White, 41, 144 78th St., was charged with second-degree menacing about 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to Falls police. He was charged after a man told them White threatened him with a knife after getting into a fight near Anthony Street and Zito Drive.
City of Lockport
• HARASSMENT: Milton Williams Jr., 28, 3667 Farry Ave., Niagara Falls, was charged with harassment and criminal contempt at noon Thursday. A victim told police she was leaving family court and Williams walked up behind her and said he was "going to beat" her. The victim has a limited order of protection against Williams and is now requesting a full order of protection.
Cambria
• ENDANGERMENT: Kelly Rados, no age given, 3671 Human Road, was charged on Oct. 5 with endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. A City of Lockport police officer arrived at Rados' residence in an attempt to serve a warrant. The officer knocked several times on various doors with no response, but could hear a young child crying inside. Sheriffs deputies were summoned and they too could not arouse anyone inside. Eventually a juvenile came to the door and deputies entered the residence. Rados was found hiding under a bed. She allegedly became verbally hostile and would not allow deputies to handcuff her. The children's father was contacted and he arrived a short time later.
• DWI: Jacquelyn M. Meyers, 51, 2786 Ridge Road, Ransomville, was charged at 9:10 p.m. Saturday with DWI, failure to keep right and refusing to take a breath test after she was stopped on Saunders Settlement Road for a traffic infraction. Patrol could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle and noticed signs of intoxication. According to the report, Meyers said she was coming from a nearby tavern and was heading home stating "I'm heading north on Ward Road going home."
