Police searching for missing 41-year-old Tonawanda man

Niagara Gazette — A Town of Tonawanda man, Paul K. Florczak, has been missing since Nov. 6, according to police.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office issued an alert for a vulnerable adult missing person Saturday after Florczak's brother reported the issue to town police.

Florczak, 41, of Highland Parkway, is about 5-foot-11 and weighs around 165 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes, does not wear glasses and has a scruffy beard.

"He many be wearing blue sweats, green winter coat and white sneakers," according to the police report.

According to Florczak's brother, the missing individual has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and has recently made suicidal comments.

According to his brother, Florczak does not drive and is also not known to walk long distances.

When authorities reported to his missing house, a note was found that said "went homeless," and Florczak's phone had been left behind and taken apart.

Authorities attempted to put the phone back together, but the battery was dead at the scene.

Florczak's roommate said the majority of the missing person's clothing, as well as an orange backpack, were missing.

Town police checked a number of homeless shelters, including the Buffalo City Mission and Salvation Army, but with no positive results. A few individuals reported that they saw Florczak near the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Sheridan Drive, but an officer canvassed the area and did not locate him.

As of Monday afternoon, the police had no further leads.

Police are requesting that anyone with information on Florczak's whereabouts contact them via their confidential tip line at 879-6606.
