POLICE REPORTS: March 18, 2010

LEWISTON — NIAGARA FALLS

Two Lasalle-area robberies reported

Employees of two 24-hour LaSalle-area businesses reported being held up at knife-point during early morning robberies Wednesday.

The clerk of a convenience store on the 6800 block of Buffalo Avenue told police about 4 a.m. a man dressed in black, wearing a ski mask and brandishing a knife entered the store and ordered him behind the counter. The suspect took about $150 from a register and ordered the man to open the safe but fled the store when the clerk said he couldn’t.

A little more than a half hour later, the clerk at an adult book store on the 8600 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard told police two men — one with a white hoodie pulled up and a ski mask on and the other in black with his hoodie pulled up and a pair of pantyhose over his face entered the store. One of the men was holding a large rusty knife.

The men took his wallet and demanded “whip its and crackers” — EZ Whip Nitrous cartridges and devices to open them. The men also took $125 from the cash register.
