Johnson murder trial goes to jury today
The jury in the murder trial of Robert Johnson is expected to begin deliberations later today.
Testimony in the case concluded on Friday and closing arguments from prosecutors and the defense are set for this morning.
Johnson faces charges of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the slaying of his wife Ahkenya. She was found stabbed to death in the couple’s Jordan Gardens apartment on Jan. 17.
Prosecutors have called the murder one of the most brutal in recent memory. The victim was stabbed 41 times and her head was almost decapitated in the attack.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants. Errol J. Vanduyne, 31, 3367 Ninth St., was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was also charged with false personation for lying to officers about his identity when he was stopped.
