Ohio man charged in Falls robbery
Niagara Regional Police say they arrested an Ohio man after he robbed a Canadian woman of her coat and some cash.
Edward Bandell, 50, from Ohio, was charged with robbery, shortly after the incident on Friday.
Officers said a Niagara Falls, Ont., woman was robbed of her coat and some cash, at 6 p.m. while at a Ferry Street hotel in the Falls. The victim reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Bandell is described by police as “a recent acquaintance of the victim.”

• VANDALISM: Police are investigating acts of vandalism at LaSalle Middle School. A school employee told police that between Oct. 2 and 8 a.m. Monday someone has repeatedly spray-painted words and symbols on the walls and exterior concrete stairs at the school and its adjoining buildings.

• SHOOTING: On Sunday, sheriff’s deputies an unknown person shot at two residences on Lockport-Olcott Road, Lockport and Burt. Both victims stated to deputies that hunters were in the creek and discharged their firearms towards their homes. According to a police report, bird shot hit both residences and one of the victims but did not cause any serious damage. The injured victim declined medical attention. Both complainants said this is an ongoing issue. Patrol searched the area for hunters with negative results.
