A fire Sunday afternoon at 6112 Walmore Road caused extensive damage to the house and claimed the life of a cat and dog.
Home owner Debbie Curyto said she left the house at about 1:30 p.m. to go to the store and when she returned at 2:10 p.m. she found the house fully involved, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department.
She also reported two family pets were inside the house.
The Bergholz and Sanborn fire companies responded as did Tri-Community ambulance and the Niagara Falls Air Base Fire Co.
The Red Cross was requested to assist the two adults that live in the residence. The SPCA was requested to assist with the dead animals.
