BLOTTER: Police reports published Nov. 23

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1500 block of Military Road on Sunday afternoon. Shanline Cobb, 42, 347 Walnut Ave., was charged with petit larceny. Store security officers said Cobb took a quantity of socks, pants and shirts without paying for the items.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after causing a disturbance in the 2700 block of LaSalle Avenue Sunday afternoon. Charles Lee Sams, 56, 1516 Cleveland Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct, restricted use of alcohol in a public place and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Police said they found Sams, who they said was intoxicated, walking in the roadway and knocking on the doors of homes as he sipped from a 16-ounce bottle of Tilt malt liquor. Sams later was uncooperative was he was being booked at the city jail.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after police broke up a fight in the 800 block of Willow Avenue at 3 a.m. Sunday. James Lewis Griggs, 33, 1055 Garden Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Griggs would not leave the area and had a quantity of prescription pain pills, without a valid prescription for the drugs.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1800 block of Weston Avenue. A 38-year-old man told officers sometime between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m. Sunday someone broke into his home by breaking a window on the front door. The victim said a 42-inch flat-screen TV was taken.

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 700 block of Augustus Place. A 37-year-old woman told police sometime between 10 a.m. Thursday and 3:56 a.m. Sunday someone broke into her home by an unknown means. The victim said a laptop computer was taken.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 2700 block of 22nd Street. A 39-year-old woman told officers sometime between 3 and 4:30 a.m. Sunday someone broke into her Lincoln Continental by smashing the driver’s-side rear window, The victim said a GPS system was taken.

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1600 block of Weston Avenue. A 25-year-old man told police sometime between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Saturday someone broke into his home through a rear window. The victim said a TV was taken.

• ROBBERY: Police are investigating a robbery in the 1800 block of Pine Avenue. A store manager told officers she was closing at around 6 p.m. Saturday when a man entered the business and began asking her questions. The suspect then went behind a counter, pressed something hard against her and demanded money. The manager gave him the money in her cash register and he fled.

• ARREST: A North Tonawanda woman was arrested after police found her “drunk and staggering in the middle of the road” in the 700 block of 10th Street on Saturday afternoon. Jeannine K. Kennedy, 52, 5438 Tonawanda Creek Road, was charged with disorderly conduct.

• ARREST: Two juveniles were arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1500 block of Military Road on Saturday night. The unidentified juveniles are accused of taking socks, panties and condoms.

• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after a police K-9 cornered her in a house that had been broken into. Johniquah Mulkey, 19, 1520 Walnut Ave., was charged with second-degree criminal trespass. She was found inside a home in the 2700 block of Welch Avenue at 7:39 p.m. Saturday after a neighbor called police.

• PETIT LARCENY: A Sanborn resident reported that $320 was taken from her purse about 4 p.m. Saturday during an open house sale at her mother’s residence on Upper Mountain Road. The victim reported that a man walked in and asked her several questions about the merchandise. Her purse was left unattended on a chair in the family room. The suspect left the residence without buying anything and acted funny. She went into the family room and saw that her purse was wide open. The suspect was the only customer inside the residence at the time. He was described as a white male, about 6-foot-tall, skinny, with long black hair in a pony tall with a pock-marked face. He drove away in a maroon Chevrolet four-door pickup.
