An investigation into several LaSalle area burglaries conducted by Niagara Falls police detectives with the assistance of investigators from the New York State Police led to the arrest of five people on Saturday, according to Detective Capt. Ernest C. Palmer.
Charged were:
• Grant J. Swanson, 17, 7448 Buffalo Ave.,: Two counts of second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
• Mark A. Pardee, 17, 8441 Buffalo Ave., Apt. D,: Second-degree burglary and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree.
• Joseph M. DiLaura, 16, 747 60th St.,: Second-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
• Christopher Stevens, 18, 2948 Linwood Ave.,: Fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
• Carlye A. Dubuc, 32, 119 70th St.,: Third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Swanson, Pardee, and DiLaura are accused of entering a 67th Street home Nov. 27 and stealing over $21,000 of property. Stevens is accused of selling some of the stolen property to an area Gamestop store. Dubuc is accused of accepting and receiving some of the stolen property at her residence following the burglary.
Additional charges are expected to be filed against several of the defendants. Police believe they are responsible for several other burglaries in the LaSalle area. At least one additional suspect is currently at large. The investigation was headed by Detective Patrick Stack, with the assistance of State Police Investigators James Thomson and Steve Dibble.
