NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara Falls

Man jumped on Niagara Street

A man told police he was attacked late Friday by five men 22nd and Niagara streets.

The victim said he was driving his cousin around when his cousin met a person. The victim agreed to drive his cousin’s acquaintance to 22nd and Niagara streets.

Once they arrived, his cousin left the vehicle to use the bathroom. After five minutes of waiting, the victim texted his cousin, who was nowhere in sight. The cousin’s acquaintance got back in the car and told the victim he would need a ride to Hyde Park Boulevard.

At that point, the victim said four men came around the side of the building. The men, along with the cousin’s acquaintance, began punching and kicking the victim.

The victim’s cell phone, $1,300 cash and a $12,000 gold chain were taken during the robbery.

The victim walked to a store and asked to use the telephone to call police. Later, the victim got in touch with his cousin and asked him to return to Niagara Street, but the cousin said he wasn’t going to because there were cops all around.

• DWI: A 54-year-old Niagara Falls man was charged with DWI, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place and unsafe backing at 9:10 p.m. Friday. Officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and asked Thomas to perform roadside sobriety tests. After failing the tests, he was charged. Officers said there was no damage to either vehicle.
