DWI charges after casino ramp accident
A Falls man was charged with DWI after police said he caused a chain-reaction accident inside the Seneca Niagara Casino parking ramp early Wednesday morning.
Officers said when they arrived on the scene about 2:15 a.m. they found a blue Chevy Lumina blocking the driving lane of the ramp with heavy front-end damage. A white GMC Cabellero with accident damage was nearby. It had been pushed into a corvette, which was also damaged.
Police soon spotted the driver of the Lumina, Thomas A. Dickinson, 46, 1309 22nd St., upper, and reported that he was staggering and appeared intoxicated. He told officers, “I was driving. I went too fast and made the turn.”
When asked to perform field sobriety tests, officers said Dickinson resisted, telling them, “This is Seneca land, you have no authority here.”
Dickinson eventually relented and failed all field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody on charges of DWI and unreasonable speed, officers said.

• CHARGED: Falls police picked up two people after staff at a Pine Avenue video store reported the theft of two DVDs. An employee said the pair were in the store acting suspiciously and when they left he found two opened DVD cases with the movies missing. Officers stopped the couple a short time later near 30th Street and Ferry Avenue and brought them back to the store where they were identified by the clerk. Charged with petit larceny were David J. Piro, 24, 829 Main St., Apt. 27, and Stephanie M. Morello, 19, 829 Main St., Apt. 7. Police said an additional three DVDs were found in Piro’s pants.
• CHARGED: Taylor R. LeFevre, 19, 11 Riverview Ct., Grand Island, was charged with petit larceny about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to Falls police. Officers said LeFevre was stopped by security of a Military Road department store after he tried to leave without paying for $91.41 in merchandise which included two Playstation3 items, a Gerber knife and a bottle of Dr. Pepper.
n INCIDENT: A New York Telephone Co. employee told police someone threw a rock from an overpass on the 100 block of Portage Road as he was driving his truck under it about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The rock struck the roof of the cab. No suspects were found in the area.
City of Tonawanda
• WARRANT: Gina McCann-Robins, 46, 3093 Macklem Ave., Niagara Falls, surrendered on a warrant for petit larceny. Police say McCann-Robins stole 33 DVDs from BJ’s Wholesale Club on Aug. 1. McCann-Robins was held for court.
