NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after a shoplifting attempt at a supermarket in the 7200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard late Sunday afternoon. Andrew Goodman, 48, 545 Seventh St., rear, was charged with attempted petit larceny. Goodman is accused of trying to take four cans of baby formula.

• ASSAULT: Officers are looking for a suspect in an assault in the area of Ferry Avenue and 24th Street at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. A 27-year-old man told police he was walking with a friend in that area when a suspect ran up and hit him in the head with a crowbar. Police said the victim suffered a fractured skull.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 2600 block of Ferry Avenue. A 22-year-old man told officers sometime between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday someone broke into his 1995 Honda Accord by smashing the front passenger-side window. The victim said a GPS system, an adapter and a car stereo system were taken.

• ARREST: A Falls teen was arrested in a drug charge. Cheron G. Hunt, 18, 3A Center Court, Apt. 1, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Roving Anti-Crime Unit officers said they responded to a complaint of two young men dealing drugs in the 400 block of 18th Street at 4 p.m. Saturday. After stopping Hunt, officers found he had 7 grams of marijuana in his possession.

• BURGLARY: A 33-year-old man told police sometime between 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and 11 p.m. Thursday someone entered his garage in the 200 block of 68th Street and stole several items with a total value of $8,220. The items ranged from a $3,500 tool set, two car amps valued at $200 each and a power saw valued at $100. The victim said he does have a suspect in the case and a neighbor has video surveillance that captures the victim’s backyard which is being forwarded to police.

• ASSAULT: A 19-year-old woman told police a person who lives in her home attacked her at 11:40 p.m. Friday.  The victim said she was attempting to break up a fight between the suspect and another individual at her home in the 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue when the suspect pushed the victim, punched her in the face and then bit her on the side of the face. Upon arrival, police did see a lump on the victim’s head and a scratch on her face.

• DWI: Vincent Saunders, 1335 Linwood Ave., was charged with DWI, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance at 12:50 a.m. Saturday. Police responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 1700 block of Ferry Avenue. Upon arrival, police found Saunders walking from behind a building toward his vehicle. He told officers he was driving to his girlfriend’s house when he stopped to urinate. Police observed slurred speech and an odor of alcohol and asked Saunders to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed. He refused to take a Breathalyzer. Police also found 0.03 grams of cocaine in his pocket and that he has a suspended driver’s license.

• NARCOTICS: Stacy Robinson, 41, 756 16th St., was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance at 12:01 a.m. Saturday when Roving Anti-Crime Unit officers observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn in the 1600 block of Elmwood Avenue. When police pulled the vehicle over, Robinson exited the car and began yelling and flailing his arms, police said while doing this he attempted to drop a yellow envelope containing 0.6 mg’s of cocaine.

• ROBBERY: A 26-year-old man told police he was walking home from a business in the 1600 block of Pine Avenue at 2 a.m. Saturday when an acquaintance pulled along side him and confronted him about 5 ounces of marijuana that was allegedly stolen. The victim said the suspect then got out of the car and a fight ensued. The victim’s father, who heard the altercation, came to the aid of his son forcing two more suspects to exit the vehicle and continuously punch and kick the victim. They then proceeded to strike the father in the back of the head with an unknown object. The victims both had visible swelling to the face and head as well as lacerations. Both men refused medical treatment. Police detectives at the scene took photos of the victims, as well as collected evidence. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and earring.
