BLOTTER: Police reports published Sept. 8

NIAGARA FALLS — Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 500 block of 26th Street. A 25-year-old man told officers sometime between 11 p.m. Monday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday someone entered his garage by unknown means. The victim said his wallet and watch were taken from his unlocked car in the garage.

n BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1600 block of Cleveland Avenue. A 32-year-old woman told police sometime between 8:30 a.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday someone entered her apartment by unknown means. The victim said a rented laptop was taken.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft from a construction site in the 6300 block of Girard Avenue. A construction company manager told officers sometime between 2 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Tuesday someone took a water meter and pump by cutting it off of the fire hydrant it was attached to.

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 600 block of 13th Street. A property manager told police sometime between 8 and 10 a.m. Tuesday someone entered a vacant home he was winterizing by unknown means. The victim said drywall in the home was “ripped open” and $1,500 worth of copper pipe was removed.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he refused to comply with police orders and then fought with officers. Paul Price Veedee, 29, 947 Ontario Ave., was charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and pedestrian in a roadway. Officers said they told Veedee to stop walking in the street directly behind police headquarters. Veedee refused that request and then ran from officers. He also reportedly fought with several officers, causing a minor injury to one of them.

City of Lockport

• DWI: Michael P. Giambra, 40, 489 Sagewood Terrace, Amherst, was charged Friday with two counts of driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and failure to signal. A report said police stopped Giambra on South Transit Street for traffic violations. Police said Giambra was intoxicated and failed several sobriety tests.

n STOLEN VEHICLE: A 2001 Chevy Tahoe was recovered Thursday after a Comstock Road man reported it stolen. A report said deputies, with the help of the Lockport police, found the vehicle parked near 232 South St. Police said nothing else was reported stolen or damaged in the vehicle.

Cambria

• MARIJUANA: Kendrick A. Miller, 33, 2027 Woodlawn Ave., Niagara Falls, was charged Friday with unlawful possession of marijuana and a vehicle violation. A report sad deputies pulled over Miller on Saunders-Settlement Road for having tinted windows. Deputies said upon interviewing Miller they could smell a strong odor of marijuana and found a small amount in the vehicle.

• LARCENY: Two North Tonawanda men reportedly told deputies Sunday unknown suspects entered their vehicles that were parked in the Niagara County Community College parking lot and stole several items. One victim said a radar detector, laptop and money was stolen, while the other victim said some lose change was taken from the center console of his vehicle. Both vehicles were reportedly unlocked.

Ransomville

• DWI: Nicholas Augustiniak, 22, 4071 Willow Road, Wilson, was charged Friday with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle with obstructed vision. A report said deputies pulled over Augustiniak on New Road for a traffic violation. Upon interviewing the driver, deputies said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle and Augustiniak reportedly admitted to smoking. Deputies said they found and seized a small baggie of marijuana. Augustiniak reportedly failed at least two sobriety tests and was remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 bail.

North Tonawanda

• DWI: Samuel C. Hopkins, 21, 1810 Niagara St., Niagara Falls, was arrested Tuesday for DWI and driving without a license near the corner of River Road and Wheatfield Street. His blood alcohol content was found to be 0.16 percent, the report said.
