Three locals arrested at Petty concert

Thirty-four people were charged by Genesee County Sheriff’s Department deputies during the Tom Petty concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center Saturday — three were from Niagara County.

In addition, Christopher D. Wolf, 21, of Thornwoods Drive, Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny and resisting arrest after police said he stole beer from a concession stand inside the concert venue and struggled with deputies attempting to restrain him.

Deputies said the family was on their way to a sporting event when the driver noticed brake trouble that may have sparked the fire.

The driver pulled into the school to check his car when he noticed flames coming from under the hood.

Middleport Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene along with the Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies who helped extinguish the fire.
