One-year-old bit by dog
Falls police were called to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday after the mother of a 1-year-old girl brought the child there for treatment after being bitten by a dog.
The mother said a small tan dog approached her and her daughter wagging its tail in the 1700 block of Whitney Avenue. When the daughter tried to pet the dog, it bit her in the face.
The mother said she tried to grab the dog but it ran off.

• CHARGED: Maureen E. Andrews, 46, 819 Chilton Ave., Apt. 1, was charged with disorderly conduct about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to city police. Officers said an intoxicated Andrews was lying in the snow in front of a home in the 500 block of 16th Street creating a disturbance.
• BURGLARY: The property owner of a home on the 500 block of Sixth Street told police Tuesday that sometime between Dec. 22 and 27 someone entered the building and took a furnace and copper piping. Four windows were also broken. The estimated loss was $2,300.
• BURGLARY: A resident on the 4600 block of Hyde Park Boulevard told police that sometime Monday night someone pried open a door to their residence and took several items including two TVs, a camera, a Wii gaming system and $100. The total estimated loss was $5,100.
Wheatfield
• BURGLARY: A John Grandville Drive woman told police Monday that someone entered her residence without permission and stole $300 worth of items, including prescription pills.
City of Tonawanda
• LARCENY: Robert E. Tall, 33, 1801 Ontario Ave., Apt. 2, Niagara Falls, was charged with petit larceny and possession of marijuana Monday evening, according to police. A store manager at a grocery store on Niagara Street said Tall tried to wheel out of the store a shopping cart loaded with laundry and bathroom supplies, several kinds of meat including a $50 ham, an 18 pack of beer without paying for them. The items totaled more than $200.
