LEWISTON: A change in supervisor salary?

Staff Reports

Since it was such a major point of contention in the recent election, Supervisor Fred Newlin said Monday night that the supervisor’s salary could be lowered — if Supervisor-elect Steve Reiter wants to make the change.

While $40,600 has been set aside for the supervisor’s salary in the 2010 budget (with a 3 percent annual raise), Newlin, addressing Reiter, who attended Monday’s meeting, said the amount could be lowered at any time.

Newlin said a letter regarding any potential changes would be sent to Reiter.

“If you want to another number there, I’m all ears,” Newlin said.

Reiter said after the meeting he’d look over the letter and think about it.
