Niagara Gazette — Falls police are investigating a reported armed robbery which took place in the 1300 block of Ashland Avenue early Saturday morning.
According to reports, at 2:38 a.m., two men broke into a residence and forced the victim, a 48-year-old woman to the ground.
She said one of the two men held her down and pointed a long gun at her head and demanded to know where her money was, threatening to shoot her if she didn't tell him where he could find it.
The second suspect allegedly held her 12-year-old son to the ground and displayed a handgun during the incident.
She said the suspects eventually located $660 cash and a cell phone from her jacket pocket, took it and fled the scene.
The first suspect was identified as a 5-foot-6 black man weighing about 250 pounds and wearing wearing a red bandana over his face with a dark blue coat and white sweatpants. The second suspect, she said, was a black man about 5-foot-5 and weighed about 150 pounds, wearing dark clothes and a hood over his face.
Officers in the area spotted a vehicle shortly after the incident and stopped the occupants. However, the victim, brought into identify the men, reportedly said they weren't the ones responsible.
