• THEFT: Police have recovered a car stolen belonging to a Youngstown man. The 34-year-old man told officers sometime between 11 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 a.m. Friday, someone stole his 1994 Ford Crown Victoria from a parking lot at Whirlpool Street and Cleveland Avenue. Officers said the car was recovered at 2:15 a.m., after it was involved in an accident at Portage Road and Mackenna Avenue.
• ASSAULT: Officers are looking into an assault in the area of 19th Street and Walnut Avenue. A 19-year-old girl told police a male suspect, who she has an order of protection against, attacked her inside a convenience store. The victim said she was grabbed by the neck and pushed in to an ice machine.
• ARREST: A Tonawanda woman was arrested after a Border Patrol officer found her lying in the middle of a street. Jeannie K. Kennedy, 52, of Tonawanda Creek Road, was charged with disorderly conduct. The officer said he found Kennedy laying in the street at Lewiston Road and Lafayette Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Kennedy was reportedly highly intoxicated and threw a vodka bottle at the officer as he attempted to help to the sidewalk.
• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 600 block alley behind Fourth Street. A 46-year-old man told officers sometime between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 5 p.m. Friday, someone entered his unlocked 1996 Chevy Lumina. The victim said a radio and 137 CDs were taken.
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on a federal warrant and drunk driving charges. David Lee Alexander, 27, 1004 Fairfield Ave., was charged on the warrant and with driving while intoxicated and two counts each of failure to stop at a red light and failure to stop at a stop sign. Police said they chased Alexander from 10th Street and Niagara Avenue to 10th Street and Center Avenue at 1 a.m. Friday after observing him speeding and going through stops signs and red lights.
• ASSAULT: Officers are looking into an assault at a social club in the 3200 block of Highland Avenue. A 37-year-old woman told police she was inside the club when another woman approached her and began to argue with her. The suspect then struck the victim n the face with a metal pipe, knocked her to the ground and jumped on her and punched her.
• INVESTIGATION: Police are investigating the passing of counterfeit money at a social club in the 3200 block of Highland Avenue. Officials of the club told officers sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday, someone used 9 counterfeit $20 bills at the club’s bar.
