RANSOMVILLE: Lions hosting breakfast with Santa

Staff Reports

The Ransomville Lions Club will hold its Lighting of the Wreath Kickoff Breakfast with Santa from 7 a.m. till noon on Friday at the American Legion Hall on Route 93. The breakfast is the kickoff event for Ransomville’s annual Lighting of the Wreath activities.

Santa Claus will make a special appearance during the breakfast to listen to the children’s Christmas wishes and give them each a gift. The children’s names will be placed on a Naughty or Nice List for Santa to watch until Christmas Eve.

The Lions will be hosting a basket raffle, which will be held during the breakfast, along with boxes located for a drop off location for “Christmas for Our Community.” The basket raffle is held to help raise Diabetes Awareness Month. November is American Diabetes Month—a time to shine a spotlight on a serious disease that leads to potentially life-threatening complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and amputation.

The primary goal of our Christmas for Our Community drive is to deliver a message of hope to needy families and youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, patriotic citizens and community leaders as christmas baskets are delivered in time for the Christmas holiday for the needy families, which included gifts for the children. All basket items are donated from area businesses and community groups.

There will be hot fluffy pancakes, fresh scrambled eggs, piping hot sausage, chilled fruit cup, ice cold juice, coffee and tea available at a nominal fee of $6 each with children under 5 free at the door. There will be no pre-sale tickets. All proceeds to benefit Christmas for Our Community and Lions Community projects. For more info, contact Lion Betty Clark at 791-4628 or Lion Ron Clark at 417-6483.
