• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested on a drug charge. Nakia D. Morton, 23, 354 1/2 Ninth St., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police said Morton was stopped a seat belt checkpoint in the 800 block of Factory Outlet Boulevard at 1:52 p.m. Friday and officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana in her car. Morton told officers that she and others in the car had been smoking pot prior to approaching the checkpoint. A search of the car led to the discovery of several prescription pain pills.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary on Ferry Avenue. A 53-year-old man told officers sometime between Sunday and 11 a.m. Friday, someone broke in to a shed in his yard by cutting off a padlock. The victim said a snowblower, a lawnmower, an air compressor and a number of power tools were taken.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 500 block of 10th Street. A 34-year-old woman told police sometime between noon Wednesday and 3 p.m. Friday, someone broke into a home she owns by breaking a side window. The victim said two refrigerators were taken.
• THEFT: Police are investigating a van break-in in the 8600 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. A 34-year-old Ontario tourist told officers sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. Friday, someone broke into her 2006 Pontiac van by breaking the a driver’s side door lock. The victim said a cell phone, a GPS system and $1,400 were taken.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 900 block of Niagara Avenue. A 19-year-old woman told police sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, while she was incarcerated on children endangerment charges, someone entered her apartment. The victim said two large screen TVs, two DVD players and a surround-sound system were taken.
