• THEFT: A patron at the Earl Brydges Library told police Tuesday afternoon that he got up to use the men’s room and someone stole the laptop computer he was using. The victim reported that the laptop was on loan from a local rental business and had a value of $1,439.
• FIGHT: The driver of a city school bus called police to investigate a fight involving two juvenile riders. According to reports, the altercation occurred Tuesday afternoon and involved a pair of juveniles who were punching and slapping each other. Reports indicated both juveniles were checked by personnel from Rural Metro ambulance service before being returned to their respective residences by police.
• THEFT: A woman living in the 1700 block of Welch Avenue told police that between 11:30 p.m. Monday and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday someone stole a 32-inch LCD television from her bedroom. No value was listed.
n BREAK-IN: A security manager at the National Grid substation on New Road told police that between 10 p.m. Monday and 8:31 a.m. Tuesday someone cut the exterior lock on the entrance to the perimeter fence and entered the substation. The manager also told police that someone cut locks off of four storage containers located on the property, but it appeared that no property was missing.

• HARASSMENT: Jason C. Messler, 24, 96 E. Somerset Court, Amherst, was charged Tuesday with second-degree harassment. A Niagara Falls woman told police she was on Prospect Street when the suspect grabbed her and threw her to the ground and kicked her in the chest and back. The report said the victim requested a full stay-away order of protection against the suspect.
