The Niagara County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the 12-year-old who died Thursday evening in an ATV accident.
Brett Wilczak, a student at Lewiston-Porter Middle School, was found pinned underneath a four-wheeled ATV in a field about a quarter mile from Porter Center Road in Ransomville just after 8 p.m.
He was transported to Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators said Wilczak, who was returning home from a friend’s house after being out with other riders, was wearing a helmet.
