• ARREST: A Buffalo man was arrested after causing a disturbance at a Chinese restaurant about 2 p.m. Monday. Darryl R. Simmes, 23. 294 Masten Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Simmes was yelling and swearing at employees of the Portage Road restaurant.
• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after stealing gasoline from city-owned pumps at the Hyde Park Golf Course. Ramandeep Kaur Bajwa, 21, 625 60th St., was charged with petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Police said they saw Bajwa at gas pumps used to fill up golf carts at the course at 2:20 a.m. Monday. After stopping her, they found she had filled a 5-gallon can with gas, valued at $20.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary at a convenience store in the 600 block of Niagara Street. Officers said they saw a broken window on the front door of the store at 5:14 a.m. Monday and discovered that someone had broken into the business. The store owner said six cartons of cigarettes and some cigars were taken.
Cambria
• BURGLARY: A Campbell Boulevard man reported that sometime over the last two weeks an unknown person entered his home and stole a fire safe from his closet in his upstairs bedroom. The safe contained $5,000 cash. The value of the fire safe is $100.
City of Lockport
• CHARGED: Joseph M. Taylor, 24, 546 Birchwood Dr. Apt. 8 was charged with second degree assault. Police responded to Main Street on Friday and found a man bleeding from the head who was attended to by rescue workers. The victim had two lacerations of left eye, fracture of the eye orbit and laceration back of his head. An arrest package was filed and Taylor turned himself in on Monday. The victim would like an order of protection.
• CHARGED: John Q. Knox, 23, was charged with second degree harassment and Anthony J. Knox, 21, was charged with third degree menacing after an incident at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Both live at 176 North Transit St. Police responded to investigate a fight on Grant Street. The victims reported they were harassed by two males and one pulled out a silver knife from his pocket and waved it around. The two suspects were later identified and a knife was found.

A Town of Niagara veterinarian and long-time member of the SPCA of Niagara Board of Directors has stepped down.
Dr. William Gerber submitted his resignation on Tuesday. It was effective immediately. -
