Guns reported stolen from basement
A Nash Road man reported Wednesday that someone pried open his firearms cabinet and stole several guns, together worth about $3,400.
Someone reportedly entered the man’s basement through a window and left through the back door.
Nine firearms were stolen from the cabinet, along with firearm accessories.
The man told deputies that his daughter’s boyfriend had been in the basement fixing a sink earlier in the day.
Investigators went to the boyfriend’s home and spoke to his grandmother, who gave them permission to search the house, the report said.
Deputies did not find the firearms, but they reportedly found a machete knife, a box of shotgun shells and drug paraphernalia.
Charges may be pending.
