COURTHOUSE: City jail again flooded by inmate

Staff Reports

An inmate at the Falls city jail damaged a sprinkler in his cell Thursday night, causing minor flooding in the male cell block.

Falls firefighters responded to the new municipal complex in the 1900 block of Main Street and assisted police in their cleanup efforts. Police commanders said jail officers caught the flooding “quickly” and limited the amount of water damage.

The incident was the third time in just over two weeks that inmates have been able to damage the sprinkler heads in their cells.
