Donald C. Boyd, age 69, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the Veterans Hospital, Buffalo, New York. Born January 21, 1940 in Niagara Falls, he was the son of (late) Thomas and Wilma (Hayes) Boyd. He attended local schools and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Boyd enjoyed spending his retirement in Florida. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances (Appoloney) Boyd. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his children, Tracey (Jeffrey) Levy of Getzville, Michael (Victoria) Boyd of Niagara Falls; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his brother, Thomas (Ilene) of Lewiston; his sister, JoAnn (Gene) Swanson of Ringold, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. Mr. Boyd donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
