TUESDAY: FMC sponsoring Spring Tour of Homes (2:02 p.m.)
FMC Price Protection will be sponsoring the Spring 2008 Tour of Homes in Middleport from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
The progressive open house event will feature about 20 homes for sale. A map of the homes can be picked up at the FMC office, 15 Main St., or downloaded from the homepage of the Middleport Web site at www.middleport-ny.com. Realtors will be at each home to answer questions.
While visiting the homes, participants can enter to win one of three grand prizes. Among them are, $600 worth of new appliances, a flat panel television or a $250 gift certificate. The drawing will be held at the end of the event at 2:30 p.m. at the FMC office on Main Street. Entrants do not have to be present to win.

The struggling economy has evidently caught up with the local gaming industry.
The Seneca Gaming Corp. announced on Tuesday plans to lay off a total of 210 of the 4,800 employees who work at its casino operations in Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Salamanca.
