Dorothy Anderson

GRAND ISLAND —  

Dorothy Anderson, 65, of Grand Island went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2012 at her residence. Born in Panama City, FL, December 6, 1947 the daughter of the late Willie and Roberta (Boone) Anderson.
Dorothy was working as an administrative assistant at the OLIN Corporation at her time of death, with over 40 years of service. She was an active member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, where she served as Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and helped out in the church with whatever she could do. She was known as a loving person and always greeted you with a smile.
Surviving is one daughter, Geneva Billips; three brothers, John Anderson, Gary Rose and Qusar (Debbie) Anderson; three sisters, Katherine (Willie) Kennedy, Elizabeth Anderson and Diane Welch-Golston; three grandchildren, Tammy Simmons, Stanley, Jr. and Dante Simmons; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation on Saturday at 11 AM in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 17th Street at Tennessee Ave. Funeral to follow at Noon. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street.
