Gladys (Klaja) Kendzia, 97 years old, of Niagara Falls, passed away on January 10, 2013, at her daughter's home in Winston-Salem, NC, while under the care of Hospice. She was born on February 8, 1915 in Niagara Falls, the daughter of the late Casimer and Rosalie (Janik) Klaja. Mrs. Kendzia attended local schools. She was a member of St. John de LaSalle Church. Mrs. Kendzia was a loving and caring mother and babci who will be sadly missed by all.

Mrs. Kendzia is survived by her sons, Robert (Barbara) Kendzia and Walter (Mary Lee) Kendzia, both of Niagara Falls; her daughters, Geraldine (late Frank) Amendola of Lewiston, and Francine (Dennis) Chriss of Winston-Salem, NC; seventeen grandchildren, Justine (Michael) Tambroni, Dr. Kristina (Dr. Thomas) Elmer, Robert Kendzia, Francine Kendzia, Gregory (Samantha) Gismondi, Geannine French, Gerauld (Priya) Gismondi, Geffrey (Karianne) Gismondi, Amanda (Brenden) Gee, Clifford (Lori) Kendzia, Laura (William) Stoeckle, Carolyn (Brian) Robertson, Dr. Shari (Christopher) Whicker, Dennis Chriss, Elizabeth (Brock) Epps, Michael (Katherine) Amendola and Susan Page (Thomas) Cadille. She is also survived by twenty-four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Casmira Catanese of Scottsdale, AZ and Sophie Peunic of Niagara Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kendzia was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Kendzia, who passed away on November 15, 1990; and her brother, Sylvester  Klaja.

Friends may call on Saturday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the   LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:00 AM at St. John De LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, with Rev. Slawomir Siok officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
