Jesse Quanah Rickard

BUFFALO — Jesse Quanah Rickard, of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in Women and Children's Hospital, Buffalo, NY.

He was a member of  the Beaver Clan, born in Tiffin, OH, on July 4, 1996, the son of Arnold and Peggy (Patrick) Rickard of the Tuscarora Nation.

Jesse attended the Tuscarora Indian School, was in the 11th grade at Niagara Wheatfield High School and  was majoring in conservation at BOCES. He enjoyed playing dodge ball, riding his mini bike, animals and listening to all types of music. Jesse will be remembered for the 16 years he spent touching our lives, sharing his love and for putting  smiles on our faces.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by four brothers, Justin (Heather) Rickard, Joshua (Melody) Rickard, Arnold (Tiffany) Rickard, Jr. and Micah Rickard; three sisters, Angela (Jamey) Curtis, Sarah (Jason) Naputi and Erin (Joshua) Williams; the Wilson family; also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jesse was the grandson of the late Ruby Roberts, Bruce Patrick, Kenneth and Margaret Rickard.

The family will be present on Sunday from  2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2208 Mt. Hope Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Walter A. Printup and the Rev. Donald A. Robinson, Jr. officiating. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery on the Tuscarora Nation.
