Richard Murray

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — Richard Murray, age 80, of Niagara Falls, NY, formerly of Billerica, MA, born in Everett, MA, passed away on January 25, 2013 in Fayetteville, NC. He was the beloved husband of the late Paula Carter Murray; the honored and dearly loved father to his son, David Murray, daughter-in-law, Deborah; and Piper his beloved Scottie Dog. He is survived by his brother, Charlie Murray of Everett, MA; his grandchildren, Ryan Patrick Murray, Sean David Byrnes and Megan Thompson; and three great-grandsons (one arriving in June).

Richard Murray proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Howard W. Gilmore AS-16 during the Korean War era. In the late 1950s, he worked on the Niagara Falls Power Plant as a surveyor. He loved Niagara Falls and had many wonderful friends there.

Richard Murray will be remembered with love and greatly missed by family and friends.

The family will receive friends at a visitation at Adcock Funeral Home, Spring Lake, NC, on      Monday, January 28, 2013, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and a memorial service will follow at 7:30 PM in the chapel with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Sisters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, Attn: Sr. Rita Mae Bissonnette, 11 Tamarlane, Portland, ME 04103.
