Richard J. Clark
Richard J. Clark, 83, of the Town of Niagara, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY, following a brief illness. Born on November 7, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary (Lefebvre) Clark.
Mr. Clark was raised in Niagara Falls, NY. Dick, as he was known by family and friends, attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy, until his honorable discharge on November 6, 1954. On December 16, 1960, Mr. Clark married the former Sibyl Miller in Wheatfield, NY. Following their marriage, the moved to the Town of Niagara, NY. Dick was employed by Great Lakes Carbon, where he worked in their Research and Development Department, until his retirement on March 1, 1992. He also worked part-time for Twin City Ambulance. Mr. Clark was a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club in the Town of Niagara, NY. Dick enjoyed fishing and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Mr. Clark is survived by three sons, David (Nancy) Clark of Newfane, NY, Steven (Colleen) Clark of Clarksville, TN and Michael Clark of Niagara Falls, NY. Dick is also survived by grandchildren; one brother, Gerald (Patricia) Clark of Lockport, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 4-7 PM in the Chapel of the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 30th at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY, concluding with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
