Eugene V. Swanson

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Eugene V. Swanson, 79, of Niagara Falls passed away quietly on November 14, 2012 in Niagara Rehabilitation Health Care Facility. Born on May 20, 1933 in North Little Rock, AR, the son of the late Charles and LaGie (Jeffries) Swanson.
Mr. Swanson was educated at Scipio A. Jones High School Central State College in Ohio and attended the Music School of Boston. He served in the US Military 1953-1955 and received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He had former employment with Vanadium Corporation, Autolite Battery, The Niagara Power Project, Glen Canyon Dam and also many projects in the Rochester area. Mr. Swanson was well-known as a gardener and gave away many of his crops. He was also a music lover and enjoyed socializing with his family and friends.
Surviving are one sister, Amanda Swanson; two brothers, George (Patricia) Swanson and Theodore (Dortha) Swanson; dear niece and caregiver, Marilyn Burch. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation on Saturday at 9:30 AM in the WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street, where funeral services will follow at 10 AM. Burial will be in Veteran's section of Riverdale Cemetery.
