Lucille Pippens

NIAGARA FALLS — Lucille Pippens, beloved mother of Virgil, Shirley, Deborah and Antionette, departed for heaven on December 26, 2012, at home, while under the care of Hospice.

Lucille was born in Footdale, PA and moved to Brooklyn, NY, at a young age, after the death of her parents to live with her sister. There she met her husband and had four children from that union. Together they owned and operated a tavern in Niagara Falls until her retirement in 1970.

Lucille went on to become a foster parent and gave her love to many children. She was a longtime member of Emanuel Baptist Church and a dedicated volunteer for HANCI for many years at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, until her illness in 2008.

Lucille leaves behind to cherish her memory, Virgil Pippens, Las Vegas, NV; Shirley Stewart, Buffalo, NY; Deborah Mathews, Niagara Falls, NY; and Antionette Brinson, Cleveland, OH; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was the last of her siblings.

Lucille gifted her remains to the University of Buffalo Medical Research Dept. Final arrangements are at the convenience of the family.

She will be greatly missed.
