Betty A. Kenney

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Betty A. Kenney, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Center. She was 89. She was born in St. Charles, MO, on May 27, 1923, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Orlinda (Rose) Hachtmeyer.
She attended schools in Arkansas, and graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1942. She moved to Niagara Falls in 1946 and married Robert C. Kenney on April 9, 1946 and they remained happily married for 56 years until his passing in 2002. She was a longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Kenney is survived by her three children, Robert A. (Deborah) Kenney of Lewiston, Fred W. (Joanne) Kenney of Lockport, and Kathleen (Roy) Blake of Warsaw, IN; four grandchildren, Robert W. Kenney, Katherine M. Dezik, Kory M. Blake and Christopher A. Blake; three great-grandchildren, Jackson W. Blake, Cassidy M. Dezik and Kaylee A. Blake; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by siblings, Fred, James and Robert Hachtmeyer.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC.,  8622 Buffalo Avenue on Wednesday from 10 AM until 12 Noon, where funeral services will be held at Noon with Pastor Charles Jennings of Ridgewood Bible Church in Lockport officiating. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.
