Grace T. Banks

CITY OF TONAWANDA — Grace T. (nee Janke) Banks, age 87, a lifelong resident of the City of Tonawanda, died on Friday, January, 18, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in the City of Tonawanda to the late Charles W. and Tessa (Schultz) Janke, she was the sister of the late Jane Lovell and C. David Janke. Grace had been employed by the City of Tonawanda School District for 24 years, retiring in the late 1980s. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and sewing.  

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard A. Banks; two sons, Mark (Robin) Banks of the Town of Wheatfield, and David (Deborah) Banks of Street, MD; five grandchildren, Lynne, Thomas, Scott (Anna), Brian and Roger Banks; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Pellicano, Brennen Banks and Thomas Banks; and a sister-in-law, Virginia (late David) Janke of Roanoke, VA.

There will be no prior visitation. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at       11 AM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. Friends invited. Private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Tonawanda, NY. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Blvd., PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240.
