WAINFLEET, ONT — Mrs. Marilyn Brown Gabryelski, of Wainfleet, Ontario, wife of the late Leonard A. Gabryelski, Jr., entered into rest on February 4, 2013. Mrs. Gabryelski was born August 20, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Clyde Brown and Genevieve Leightnam. She was lovingly raised by her foster parents, the late John and Angeline Nese. Marilyn graduated from LaSalle Senior High in 1949. She continued to be a part of the class of 49, as she planned and participated on many class reunion committees through the years and was the glue that held it together. Marilyn was also a member of the Wainfleet Historical Society. She retired from Interstate Brands Co. in 1991 after 20 years of dedicated service.

Mrs. Gabryelski is survived by her children, Leonard Gabryelski III and wife, Janet of Augusta, GA, Diane Hurley and husband, John of Lockport, NY, Michael Gabryelski and wife, Susan of Wainfleet, Ontario, John Gabryelski and wife, Anne of North Tonawanda, NY, and Steven Gabryelski and wife, Sandra of Fenwick, Ontario. Additional survivors include eight grandsons, six granddaughters, along with four great-grandchildren. Other family members include a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Fabian and Mary Gabryelski of Clifton, NJ; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Marilyn is also survived by her dear friend of 76 years, Sylvia Davis. Sylvia was more than a friend; she was the sister Marilyn never had. They have many cherished memories together of which brought much joy to both their hearts as they loving reminisced often. Not to be forgotten is her dear friend, Josephine "Finnie" Liske of whom she shared many hours of great conversations about life.

Marilyn will be lovingly remembered for her zest for life, kind heart and gentle spirit. "God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers."

Marilyn's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church (31928 Hwy. #3, Wainfleet, ON), with Father Gabriel Dias as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Wainfleet, ON. Memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Church, Port Colborne Hospital Foundation or charity of one's choice.
