Edward E. Adams

NORTH TONAWANDA —

Edward E. Adams of North Tonawanda, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the age of 97. For several years he had been under the compassionate care of his daughter, Connie. Mr. Adams was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He enlisted in the US Army during peace time and then volunteered to serve during World War II in the 82nd Airborne, 504 Parachute Infantry Regiment, where he served as a Staff Sgt. until 1945 and was a life-member of Stephen Sikora Post 1322 American Legion. Mr. Adams then worked at the Wurlitzer Co. and at Lawless. He then worked at the North Tonawanda Recreation Dept., where he retired at age 87, after forty-four years of service. Mr. Adams enjoyed dancing in his younger years and a good card game. He loved to work, especially outside, finding peace and tranquility in the backyard and his garden. He enjoyed decorating for the holidays and his Christmas display was well-known. Mr. Adams had a soft heart for dogs and had many who were his constant companion. Dad was a persistent reader and passed the habit down to his children. He had an enthusiastic nature and was curious with the love of learning. He enjoyed woodworking, but was happiest in the kitchen making pancakes or cookies for his family. Most of all, he was a man of great faith and attended O.L.C. Church  and St. Albert's Parish all his life. Mr. Adams loved his family well and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of 69 years to Victoria (nee Mielcarek) Adams; dearest father of Connie, Jean, Bridget and David. Predeceased by his brother, Joseph; and sister, Jane. Also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and a nephew.
