NIAGARA FALLS — Aldene J. (Sdao) Rotella, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012.  Born in Plumville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gasper and Josephine (Pino) Sdao.

Aldene moved to the Niagara Falls area as a child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  After graduating from high school, she worked for Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls, but eventually went into banking and worked for the former Marine Midland Bank until her retirement in 1992. Deana, as she was best known by family and friends, was a wonderful cook. There was always sauce and meatballs ready to be enjoyed, but her most gifted trademark was her baking.  Homemade Italian cookies from her mother Josephine's recipes and made by her loving hands, were always available for family and friends.

Deana is survived by her loving husband, Sam Rotella; three children and their spouses, Sam (Priscilla) Rotella of Westchester, PA; Kathy (Edward) DeLorme of Deerfield, FL; and Sandra (James) Keough of Cuba, NY; four grandchildren, Heather (Vincent) Champion, Kimberlie (Thomas) Marko, Bryan (Amy) Rotella and Nathan Keough;  three great-grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew and Alyssa Marko; three brothers, Fred (Nan) Sdao of Niagara Falls, NY; William (Elaine) Sdao of Pompano Beach, FL; and Robert (Geri) Sdao of Lewiston, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four brothers, John (late Doris) Sdao, Floyd (late Marie) Sdao, Ben (late Frances) Baldachino, Jim (Betty of Niagara Falls, NY) Sdao; and one sister, Katherine Laurie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6th from 10 AM until 11:15 AM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Rd., Niagara Falls,  NY, where funeral services will begin at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Thomas Statt officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Williamsville, NY  14221; or to St. Jude          Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
