Pearl Elizabeth Siegrist

LOCKPORT — Pearl Elizabeth Siegrist, longtime resident of this area, died on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at  Niagara Hospice House, while under the care of her loving family and Niagara Hospice. She was born in Niagara Falls on December 11, 1928, the daughter of George Walter and Zelia (Brault) Burns. Pearl attended school and resided at Stella Niagara as a child and was a member of its church.

As a young woman, she worked for Handy Hankies, also playing softball for the company team. Later she was employed by the Carborundum Company in the coated abrasives division.

She was a longtime member of St. John de LaSalle RC Church. She enjoyed bowling and     crafting.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Siegrist. Survivors include three children, Linda McGahey (Greg); Dawn Kupiec (Richard) and Thomas Siegrist (Mary); a sister, Dolores Swiatlowski; grandchildren, Tammy LaGamba (Marc); Kenny Cornell; Jason Kupiec (Diane); Jessica Kerr (Matt); Robert and Eugene Siegrist; a step-grandson, Gregory McGahey; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Vincenette LaGamba; many nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Earl, Walter, Lawrence and Rueben Burns; and sisters, Nina Safarian, Loretta Stacey and Lorraine Valanni.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-5, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in St. John de LaSalle R.C. Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue. Please assemble at church.  The interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Niagara Falls. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., or to the Niagara Falls Firefighters Toy Fund.
